Both 1 and 2. They will respect you but wont enjoy talking to you (they wont see you as selfish though). I think with a good speech therapy you can reduce those 40 seconds and make the 2nd option slow...

Either mild stutter or they outgrow it. Or they do a good therapy as kids/teens. There are exceptions but not many....
