I have the same issue! I’m 27 and have gone my whole life saying my name fine, although I did have a small stutter I grew out of when I was little. Over the past year, I have developed a speech block when introducing myself and it’s so embarrassing I cry almost every time. I will go through periods where it’s bad and then periods where I’m really good. If I’m in a “good” period and mess up my name, I immediately spiral for some time and can’t say my name. Like others have said on this thread, I freeze and can’t get my name out. I’ve also heard the “oh did you forget your name?”, which is literally the worst thing someone can say. Anyways, I’m looking into hypnotherapy to help because I almost view this as a phobia. Has anyone tried it?
