I’m in a cage

People staring into your soul when you talk
People staring into your soul when you talk I noticed that often when I’m with people and I’m stuttering, they seem to try and be supportive by staring into my eyes as deeply as they can with the wid...
Have you ever been threatened to be kicked out of college because you didn’t want to give a presentation?
Have you ever been threatened to be kicked out of college because you didn’t want to give a presentation? So I have social anxiety and I also stutter. I emailed my professor and asked if it was possib...
I think it was. "You got this" is very belittling. That's how you'd talk to a small child, not a grown human being. ...
I still advise you to say it, because unless you can hide your stuttering perfectly (which is not always possible, or sometimes exhausting), if your listener does not suspect that you have a stutter, ...
IMO I prefer it when someone helps distract from the stutter. You can see on people's faces when they're just trying to wait it out, it's not nice. It's much more calming for someone to positively and...
I think you handled it well. I'd respond very positively to how you handled it. I wish everyone just acted cool and nonchalantly around stutters edit - I have no issue with the capitalisation thing...

You should absolutely wait it out. “You got this” is condescending as hell😂. That’s something you tell your dog or child when they’re doing something challenging. Unless of course, they can not get ...
Being a stutter, idk why but it always makes me feel awkward & down when someone says things like this "you got this , you can speak it out, you're doing fine" , while staring into my soul instead of...
Thank you-Thank you for replying and being as kind as you were, it was completely different than what I was preparing myself for. I understand now with the capitalization being dramatic. I'll won't e...
I applaud you coming in and making an attempt to understand stuttering. However, would you go in a weightloss sub and go: lovely guy, BUT HE WAS MASSIVELY OVERWEIGHT? words matter. Not that you said...
It was bang-on like my stutter. Worse when answering a question or under stress....
My nephew stutters and certainly doesn’t surround himself with assholes but it always seems that an asshole is lurking around to tease/torment…...
I know that stuttering isn’t caused by confidence and anxiety issues, but therapy showed me (in my case) that my anxiety/confidence issues stemmed a lot from my stutter. I’m sure it’s not uncommon for...
I didn't like his character. They made the stuttering seem like it was due to confidence and anxiety issues. The iceberg secondary stuff that people always see and think that's making someone stutt...
