Yeah, I could read it as condescending on how I described the situation. 😭 Me and the guy talked a bit after still... so it didn't punch him in the gut enough to ruin the conversation. That doesn't changed I ignorantly said it, and that its not nice to acknowledge it. I definitely get the sensitivity part, but paused on the feeling of infantilization. Infantilized is such a strong descriptor for an entire group. Do people feel that way from a collective of personal experiences or a build up of situations that don't fit right? I know it's not everyone that feels that, but it's enough to make note of it. It ain't even about that guy no more, just curiosity. 3 slightly grammatical messages and I've given up a lot of formality, just read the tone of the message coming from a Texan teenager with dyed hair violently shaking with clenched fists. No malice in any of them words, I pinky promise.
