I think it's more because singing is processed differently than speaking. Most stutterers also don't stutter when they whisper or when they speak in unison with a group....

No stutter, but I rarely have long monologues alone lol. Notice also that if I'm whispering or singing I don't stutter either, be it with others or alone (I mostly have speech blocks)...
