I do pause sometimes before saying a word I am going to stutter on, and I repeat it over and over in my head and when I'm confident I can say it without stuttering I say it, and it comes out just fine...

That's just the thing-- in my experience, and a lot of other people who stutter that i've talked to, you become so much more fluent when you *stop trying not to stutter* -- you have to stop fearing it...
