Lately my stutter has been so bad I don't really even initiate conversation This is completely an issue of how I personally feel about my stutter. I shouldn't feel so defeated. But when there are a lo...
It might not be any consolation, but I've had a similar experience. I worked in a call center in my early 20's for about a year and a half. At first when I was making sales, I was able to speak very f...
My severely embarrassing moment
My severely embarrassing moment I've worked in a call centre as a stutterer for 2 months now. Vocally, I've been fine. Smashing out KPIs, bonding with callers, rarely blocking and never stuttered. Tod...
I'm not telling *you* not to do it, I'm explaining why I really don't want to. There is a difference between "not hiding" and "searching for ways to make the problem worse". To me, this idea sounds *m...

Do you *have* to use the phone for interviews? I definitely prefer emails and face-to-face myself, because it's easier for me to handle those two situations. So I try as much as I can to set up the c...
Started this book last week and just by gradually accepting my stutter and talking slower, I already can feel some progress. My biggest fear, as the same of others, is the telephone. If my life depend...
There were so many little steps I had to do. Because stuttering is different in every person, you have to experiment what works best for you. My previous experiences with SLPs were pretty bad. There...
You don't have to do anything. "Should" is still fear-based thinking. Do you want to? I really struggled with practicing at home (I usually didn't) because everything seemed stupid and/or embarrassing...
the calling strangers method is what I did with my speech therapist, he told me I had to practice it at home too, but I never did because I was too scared. I should go and practice more again...
I also tend to not stutter at all when explaining that I stutter. Kind of weird....
