Some consonant initial words, starting with W for example, I add a very slight "ah" or "uh" sound before it and it helps me get through it. Ex - (uh) Water. Though I've gotten skilled at it by now ...

Yep! People always think I’m trying to say “wine” regardless of what time it is. Usually someone else will get water and I’ll say “same as them!” Lol...

The problem with "tricks" like these is that they can themselves become part of the stutter. You can use them sparingly, but once they've become habitual, they can cease being helpful....
