I don’t think blocks are only from mental fear. Some people stutter because of anxiety so in that case yes. A lot of stutterers still stutter and block regardless of how they feel though...

Blocking happens *because* you are trying to force the word out bc you are scared of people hearing your repetitions . That’s why you don’t block when alone - you aren’t scared of anyone hearing....
