>But how do you talk and not push? No sound or air comes out if I don't make a conscious and voluntary effort. What happens when I stop pushing is that I stop talking, because as I said, i CAN'T talk, I can't produce a sound without first pushing. So how? In order to answer your question, first, I'd like that you do this exercise: **Exercise: Have intention to move your legs** 1. stand up from your chair 2. focus on the intention to 'move your legs in order to walk a couple of steps' 3. then sit back in your chair 4. then ask yourself: when I focused on the 'intention to move my legs' did I have to: * push or force something? * tense my leg muscles? * make my brain active? * be aware of following my leg movement? The answer should be all: no. 5. From now on, whenever you talk, the focus on 'intention to move your tongue (and intention to breathe out)' should be the same as in number 4, where you reinforce completely effortless, direct and natural speech **Question**: In this exercise, did you notice that it's not about 'awareness of legs' but rather 'intention to move legs'? See the difference? This is very important. Awareness does not equal intention. So, 'intention to move your tongue' does not equal 'being aware of how your tongue is moving' during a speech block
