That worked for me until I grew up, got a job and had kids! Playing around and joking about the stutter only works to some degree! I wish I could go back to being less self conscious about myself tho...

Anything you can do to boost confidence is a good thing, not just for stuttering, but for life in general. Go for it and see if you benefit from it....
