Its because alcohol sedates your frontal lobe, so your anxiety for talking goes away. Just like when you are talking to yourself, no anxiety for talking, no stutter...

I stutter less when I had a few drinks. I think it´s because I am more relaxed and outgoing when I´m a little drunk. However when smoking I never noticed a difference....

I don’t smoke but I’ve noticed that a few edibles before social gatherings might help reduce mine. Could be placebo but in theory it makes sense since the more relaxed you are the less you’ll stutter...
