Great answer. You're so right about the two-way communication. We don't stutter when talking to ourselves or to a pet because there's no one there to judge us....
No.. that's communication because there is a 2nd person listening to you and wanting to make meaning of what you are saying. Speaking to yourself.. there is no other listener....
Great article, findings make sense. So in other words if we could always "trick" our brains that we are alone and that no one is listening to us speak then maybe we will never stutter again....
I sometimes need to close my eyes to get through a block. I don't know if it's because it's shutting out the world or it makes it so there's less info going to my brain, but at least it seems to work....
