Personally, I think if someone picks it up and questions you on it, you feel less obliged to try and 'hide' it, so you are in fact more relaxed. That could just be my own personal experience though....
I think I can relate. Whenever I'm giving a talk or speaking publicly in general, my stutter is somehow greatly reduced. I think a lot of it has to do with confidence, and maybe an adrenaline rush tha...
Yup, same here. Makes me greatly self-conscious. Either I try way too hard to control my stutter or become nervous which causes me to double my stuttering. Strange that it works for you....
