Yes, being a student at college and university can be quite challenging as a stutterer because people are often asked to speak up. I was constantly praying that the teacher wouldn’t ask me anything or that I wouldn’t be asked to read out loud. Even to this day (I recently turned 41), I still have some trouble saying my name, so introductions were a nightmare when I could even start speaking. My stuttering has generally improved a lot as my self-confidence increased, thanks to daily reading out loud using a special technique. You can find plenty of information about this online (slow reading, lots of breathing, soft pronunciation, etc.). Also, if you work hard, focus on getting good grades, and have the desire to go places, you’ll eventually step up in life. You’ll find a good job, a partner, and your social status will improve, which brings additional confidence. If you really want it, you can take the reins of your life and be in control. I used to be a terrified teenager, but I worked hard to overcome my stuttering and now live a fulfilling life.
