It’s not your stutter that’s stopping you from being a fun sociable person, it’s your thoughts and feelings around your stutter that are stopping you. First steps stopping a stutter from completely controlling your life is to stop making any attempts to hid it and to be prepared to stutter openly. This is going to feel so difficult to begin with but the more you do this and the more you actively challenge these negative thoughts around the way you speak the better things will become. It’s really important to understand that other people really aren’t as bothered by our stutters as we think they are. Anyone who is really isn’t worth bothering about anyway. Hope this makes sense?
