I remember once being brave and raising my hand to try and audition for a role in a play. My teacher saw me raise my hand gave me the side eye from her desk and gave the smallest shakes of her head. I still see the sternness in her eyes to this day nearly 15 years later. Needless to say I put my hand back down.
