That was a really sweet comment. Thank you. I have a stutter about the same as your son. Can’t say my name; I communicate by writing things on my phone mostly. I’ve committed to becoming a software engineer. The way I look at it is if you’re REALLY good at whatever it is, like undeniably good, then you’re going to get hired. I’d tell him to consider picking a career that requires good skills/knowledge like that. That might be ocean biology; I don’t know. Bigger companies need to meet a certain diversity quota so they might even value you higher than someone else because you stutter. And if it’s appropriate tell him that women often think stuttering is cute. It makes you seem sensitive and emotional and helps one develop empathy for others. I’ve done better with women than a lot of my fluent friends. Not so well with male friends though haha
