How has stuttering impacted your personality?

How has stuttering impacted your personality? Might be a hard question to answer, but I've always tried really hard to be funny my whole life. Whether it is impressions, funny sounds or actions. It occurred to me the other day while I was teaching my class that the reason I act the way I do is to lighten to mood so I'm not so anxious and can speak fluently. It's weird to think that my speech impediment has pushed me into working with children. What about you guys?
