I’ve known many SLPs with no awareness of dysfluency (socially, personally, and professionally). A SLP without proper knowledge is often *more harmful* than nothing. There are great sources that have very user friendly info available for free online. Having someone read/listen along with you *could* be helpful if they are willing/able to override everything they probably “know” about stuttering.
