had a few job interviews lately. first one was terrible, could barely get a word out edge-wise. a few days later a friend let me know that i had a guaranteed job working for him if i wanted it. that job is an hour commute and on the low side of income i will accept, my thought was "i dont particularly want that job but i will take it if i have to," rest of my interviews i did great, had the interviewers eating out of the palm of my hand by the time they were over. what changed was that i sincerely believed (and do believe) they needed me more than i needed them. started my new job earlier this week. TL;DR - i beat my stutter (in the short term) by reframing the context from "i need to impress you" to "it is your job to impress me."
