I asked to write my name down instead of saying it

I asked to write my name down instead of saying it I was at Best Buy few minutes back to exchange something I bought (versa 2 fit bit is on sale for anybody that's interested). The person at the counter asked for my name and I tried to say it but I couldn't. I asked for a paper to write it in and he gave me then asked why I couldn't say it. I told him there was no reason. I wish I wasn't able to talk at all instead of dealing with stutter. So there's that.
