Having Troubles Speaking at a Summer School Program Hello r/Stutter! I am a high school student who is currently enrolled in a Pre-College Program at a University in Boston. There are 560 people here right now, and I am having troubles making friends on account of my stutter. I just recently began reading a book about stuttering (Tangled Tongue by Jock A. Carlisle). So far, it seems as though everyone else at the summer program has found a strong group of friends to be with for the week. I have tried sitting with random people and talking to them (my stutter isn't too bad), but as soon as I start blocking hard, I can tell that they have zero interest in carrying on a conversation. I have no idea what to do about this because I am worried that I will spend the next week and a half studying away from people, which I feel as though would be a waste of a wonderful opportunity. Thanks for your consideration.
