I'm a student, I tried debating today and I can really use some moral support. Where I live there is this debate competition that is huge in my country, for the first time they are hosting an English version of that on TV so I wanted in. I and my team got to the casting round and we had to do a match to see if we can progress to the round that will be shown on TV. I got really nervous and anxious about this because I really wanted to progress in this show. After the match, I beat myself up 'cause when I got to the stage I was so nervous that I forgot some points. Turned out that didn't matter because the judges didn't understand a thing I said, partly because of my stutter which means all the efforts I put into practicing for this meant nothing. I know this sounds like a small thing but I would really appreciate it if anyone of you can give me some moral support or tips to improve next time.
