It's not gatekeeping. I'm not against mild stutterers and i know there lives are definitely not ideal. but i have seen various posts getting deleted and people being obnoxious about how they just didn't care about it anymore and now living the best life. You can't not care about it if it affects everything. I wanted to relate to people living a similar life or learn what they did to cope with things. I don't want mild stutterers to stop posting or tell them that they aren't "real" stutterers but only that life is not same for everybody and the same advise does not work for everyone. For example you must've seen many career related posts and people commenting that they didn't let their stutter affect their future and are now leading teams or doing conferences or have to talk to multiple people etc. Good for them and I'm not saying that it must've been easy for them. But for someone like me, it was/is impossible. I went into my career just coz i wouldn't have to talk that much. I had to change my lifestyle, degree, job and basically everything because or my stutter. I have been learning ASL but have no one close to me that would learn it with me as well so its useless. I'm just at the point of typing things on the phone and showing it to the other person to avoid talking. Just ignoring it is not an option for most. Sorry if i came across as rude or being ignorant of other's issues. Good day.
