Why does mentioning stuttering trigger my stuttering?

Why does mentioning stuttering trigger my stuttering? So today my dad was talking about his podcast and how it’s starting to show success and told me that I should consider making one. I replied that that would be difficult because talking in a mic or recording a video with my voice triggers my stutter (which is true- reading scripts or talking off the cuff in front of a camera or mic causes me to stutter very badly). I wouldn’t even say it’s for anxiety reasons cause I’ve always had a slight stutter that most people wouldn’t notice. But ever since I mentioned it this morning my stutter became a lot worse and noticeable throughout the rest of the day. And that’s common for me- I’m usually okay unless the topic of stuttering gets brought up and it’s like a switch flips in my brain and suddenly my stuttering gets intense and it takes me a day or two for it to go back to normal. I’d love to hear some input as to why this happens. Why does mentioning my stutter cause my stutter to come to the forefront and get worse? Does this happen to anyone else?
