Can I ask if your stutter is a lot less severe when you're alone or with people you're very close to? Mine is so much worse when I'm with unfamiliar people or in front of groups. My kids are the opposite. I'm so relaxed (speech-wise... they're anything but relaxing! I just don't think about my stutter) around them, I only really stutter when I'm reading with them sometimes. I don't want to assume anything about your stutter, I just want to say that I had the same worry, but speaking with/at them is just different and like it is when there isn't an audience. Maybe it will be like that for you, too.
