It's definitely a commitment that takes time and I feel like its one of those things where it works for some people and not for others. The last time I did speech therapy was when I was around 10 years old and it did help some but I had other speaking issues outside of just stuttering. My stuttering never really improved until I actually started using my voice on a daily basis and talking to people which didn't happen until I was working in college. It's possible it is just not for you. On a side note, i've had this thinking for a long time and maybe i'm just full of shit. I always stutter the worse when i'm thinking about stuttering and maybe those techniques you are learning is putting those thoughts in your mind when trying to talk. Unless they become second nature with a lot of practice maybe it really doesn't help all that much. Who knows, that's why i've never gone back to therapy though.
