True! It definitely is distinct for every individual. But in that example, isn't feeling uncomfortable about your fucked up teeth really just feeling uncomfortable about your appearances? Or feeling self conscious? It also means you're involved in what others are thinking rather than what you are saying, which is something that will often cause me to stutter, whereas if I'm SUPER into what I'm saying, I'm less likely to stutter. But every example still just comes down to the brain sending that one signal that results in a stutter.
