How to support my friend who stutters? I have a friend, recently when we go to parties or when he’s feeling down, he’ll mention to me that he’s nervous that he’s stuttering when he’s talking to people. Personally, I’ve never noticed it (I’m quite oblivious to things that go on around me, not trying to say he’s lying), but I think it must bother him in social situations. What can I say to make him feel better when that happens? I try to tell him it’s ok and that people won’t judge him, but I know it isn’t working and clearly he’s worried that people judge him for it. Is there anything I can say that’ll make him less stressed about it? I tried googling it but it just says be patient and don’t interrupt, but he doesn’t stutter with me (or not to a large extent) I think he wants emotional support and reassurance, how can I do that?
