I can relate. When I get a new job, I always struggle at first with the phone. But after awhile, it becomes easy, because my brain adjusts. What never becomes easy, though, is just randomly answering the phone when various people call. I will always struggle with that, no matter how often I do it (and I have done it for decades). For some reason, I stutter horribly when I’m talking to people I know well on the phone. Strangers...I stutter less severely. I’m sure there’s some kind of psychological element to this...but how to solve it is as mysterious as the cosmos. Nobody seems to know enough to be able to solve it.
