You may not able to control a situation and its outcome, but you can control your attitude and how you deal with it. Ignore the kids or if you feel you can educate them, do that. Just don't care about what others say/think man. As a fellow stutterer, I agree, it sucks big time, but its how you react to it that matters the most. You can still be assertive and become a better individual even with this disability. What helps me is focusing on what I want to say and not how I'm going to say it. Also if i get stuck on a word, I would stop, take a deep breath and try again, to which I'm able to most of the time. Hope this helps, even in the slightest.
