Can I still get better if the cause of my stutter is a genetic factor?

Can I still get better if the cause of my stutter is a genetic factor? My stuttering is mild, it’s usually just the beginning part where I stutter, pronouncing the first letter when I begin to talk and sometimes it’s not even a stutter it’s a prolonged sound, like instead of a-a-a it’s aaa. I have 3 sisters and two brothers. None of them stutter and my mom doesn’t stutter. But my dad however, stutters just like me, the same exact way. If I stutter because it’s hereditary, can I still get help? Even though it’s mild it still really bothers me when talking to people. I often feel like I have something more than just a stutter, like I’m not able to say what I’m thinking or when I speak I say things differently because I’m overthinking. It’s like my thoughts and words are not in sync which causes this uncertainty or hesitancy that makes me stutter or express myself differently in a way that confuses people.
