>For the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been forcing myself to speak more slowly to see if I am received better by others. Excellent. Keep it up! Speak louder, hold your head high, and "maintain eye contact" while you speak (regardless of if you stutter or not) with others >It at least appears to be working, as I have noticed that I am stuttering less and I am perceived much better, and people are friendlier/more likely to listen. Now, try to *decrease* the importance of how you're perceived by other people, and *increase* the importance of being yourself while speaking. Usually we stutter more if we fear judgement from others (kind of the reason why you don't stutter much speaking to the wall, or to a dog). So, **if you remove this need to please others, you'll come off as more authentic**. Usually being authentic is better than pretending to be someone you're not. There are exercises you can do to remove this fear of judgement. Let me know if you want to try them out.
