Adult onset stutter that occurs after a brain injury. It involves multiple symptoms—prolongation, blocks, repetition, tension, aphasia, dysphasia —we’re producing the right words, but our neural pathways mess up the signal along the way with all kinds of unexpected results. Sometimes I crack up at what comes out of my mouth. It’s quite a ride to suddenly discover you’re a stutterer at the age of 45.
