Ok, family history is the biggest red flag. If he struggle physically you could contact an SLP, but if it's just "relaxed" repeating i wouldn't panic. If you contact an SLP, try to find one that specializes in stuttering, and remember that doctors know absolutely nothing about stuttering, so if you talk with your doctor and (s)he tells you to wait, ignore the doctor, they are clueless.
