So sad to have your parents reject you for something you have no control over. My parents marginalized me, never got me speech therapy and generally abused me because I was imperfect. I did marry a wonderful professional man who was always proud of me stutter and all. I recovered at age 70 through psychological therapy dealing with my abusive childhood. I've been totally fluent for 4 years now and I'm sure its permanent.
