I agree with 'It'. Something about it felt incredibly authentic - even at the end when he gives the passionate speech and the other kids are like 'wow, and he didn't stutter once' which also felt oddly relatable! I really liked how they made it part of his character but not like a plot point. Also agree on the DW episode. Won't lie it also tapped into a deep fear I have about needing to say something urgently to someone and not being able to.
