I sometimes pretend as if I'm new to the area and that I'm finding it difficult to name the place or I tell the short-form of it or mumble the word slowly nd let the bus conductor/ticket provider confirm the place nd I nod yes. Rarest of the cases I write it down on a paper nd ask fr it.
