i think those feelings are common, for all kinds of reasons not just stuttering. i’m almost twice as old as you, and experienced that in school, but also more recently in my own professional life. two things help me: 1. learning to recognize that I’m not the center of other peoples lives or that is, Nobody cares. people are so wrapped up in their own lives that the stuff that doesn’t affect them personally they forget about. so it’s kind of liberating. 2. for people who are impatient or rude about stuttering, they can f off. in hindsight i’m not sure if this addresses your post, but what i’m trying to say is. yes, many of us have experienced that, but as hard as it is you have to let go of it. you are only 26, so you are relatively young. you can’t let that anger wreck your future. Also, the best years of your life are the ones you are living right now.
