it's an aggravator, not a cause. You don't see people with anxiety disorders developing stutters. Plus i had a relatively stress free childhood. You sound like you have a mild stutter that mostly shows up when you are anxious, but otherwise is more rare or mild. A new way to think about it is, stuttering feels likt he problem...but what if it's really not? What if we just spoke, stuttered when it came and then carried on the rest of our conversation. then it would just be a disfluency and everyone gets those sometime.
