I apologise, I was making a general point rather than directly addressing your point, which was of course entirely valid. I've just heard many people equate acceptance with resignation. Sorry for not reading your comment properly and making an assumption. To clarify, I mean that your stutter is but one aspect of your personhood. I spent far too many years with it as a central part of my identity until I learned to appreciate my other qualities.
