It's actually really interesting, and I wish research would be done into this aspect of stuttering. I do want to add that I've had times when I still had problems saying the word, even when it was uttered. But then again, I tend to carry on with my own saying of the word regardless, so maybe there's a sort of "tolerance" there. Dunno. It ought to say something about the way this whole stutter thing hooks onto - or fails to hook onto - the communication activity. And then again, it's likely a matter of degrees/tendency, and not the only factor to stuttering.
