Yeah, we get people like that in here, but by and large, I think there's a healthy tone most of the time, and someone will speak up if this isn't the case. Maybe I haven't been reading the threads close enough, though, dunno. Not that the general notion of "dating" isn't a valid topic, of course. It's just that there are influences out there that can make the perspective skewed and borked. Not a great thing to add on top of the struggle of stuttering itself. And sure, some people do indeed consider dating a "game", and lots of people participate in it like that, and are also able to find what they want that way (meeting others who think similarly), but that is by no means an excuse to assume a default "shopping" mentality, as if a "right" of some sort. I consider it a beneficial thing to disentangle various specific issues stutterers might have, from various wrongthinking that people can entertain in general. It makes it easier to consider the stuttering on its own, without these messy elements intertwined.
