I understand that from the perspective of someone who stutters, you might want to avoid talking. In my experience, those four word questions in an email inevitably lead to a back and forth that spans over the course of 20 or 30 minutes. Whereas a two minute phone conversation takes much less time and accomplishes much more. In a business environment, I'm more willing to speak candidly than to put something down on paper (email, chat, etc.)
