How do i start PRACTICING to reduce Severe Stuttering? I've been through a few speech therapists in the past and there was really no significant changes to my stutter but, i feel like it's close to impossible to get a WHITE COLLAR job and not get laid-off with this. I can understand mild to moderate is fine and that they can just push through it, but i just have it much worse. It wasn't like this in the past, i used to have a moderate stutter and am kinda talkative in elementary and highschool but when COVID came, i was just not opening my mouth that much at home and just played games. This is how i talk now, let's say i'm John: “Hi my name..(blocks or can’t say the next word for 5-10secs) is J-John. I’m twe…(block again) twe-twe-twenty y…(blocks)y-years old and i-i-i-im c-c-c…(blocks)currently studying fffffor m-m-m-my fut…(blocks) ture.” Yep, that's mine. I don't want to take any medication and would like to only use it as a last resort. I'm working at an exhausting blue collar job and i don't want any "Extra fatigue side effect" from the meds. I'm looking onto buying books and reading out loud, does it REALLY work? Then i'm gonna slowly make my way up into phone calls, online video chat, then talking to strangers then public speaking. But i don't really know if my stutter would be reduced to mild to even do those. I was born with this and my dad is also a stutterer. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
