This just makes me smh. Sometimes I feel that college kids have way too much time on their hands and think too hard. I have spoken with stuttering panels at 4 colleges/universities and I feel like this is a standard practice in all the grad classes. A lot of times we talk about their experiences doing this exercise. Not once was I (or anyone on the panel that I know of) offended. I always thought it was a great exercise personally. To flip the script, a stutterer can then have a mindset, "my affliction is so bad that fluent people aren't even willing to get into my shoes and see what it is like for a day". Shame increases.
