I often do game mastering, so yeah, I guess you could say I manage to tell stories in a group (literally!). It might help that there's an element of "performance" involved, such that I'm a bit distanced from my common person, but I still stutter an inconvenient amount sometimes. And we can tell stories even if we stutter, of course. I find that part of it is mostly about having nice people around, who care to listen.
