I think that depends on the severity of your stutter. Some people can't even get a word out. Acceptance isn't really going to help them be a functioning member of society if they physically can't order a meal or take a phone call. That being said, a mild stutter is seen as quirky by most people in my experience. If it's not that bad I see no point in using speech therapy.
