I’m planning to seek speech-language therapy. It will be my first experience although I’m 78f! There are some anomalies to my stutter that I believe are neurological too because I’m totally fluent in casual conversation but if speaking a foreign language I’m totally blocking and having repetitions. It is an issue of speech formation as different areas of the brain process language differently. There are definitely issues of initiating language from thought as my advanced age is showing a loss of words. I live near a medical school and I’m hoping that the speech-language department will help me. Has anyone else experienced my issue concerning translating foreign language into your native language and their stuttering becoming more severe?
